We invite researchers, educators, managers, and students to submit original contributions which may be conceptual, theoretical, or empirical. They should document research activity, case studies or best practices, shedding light on the theory or practice of engineering, technology, or innovation while addressing under the conference theme, “Engineering in 4th Industrial Revolution”.

Major technology topics under the conference theme include (not limited to):

Power & Energy: Power Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical Machines, Control, and Testing Techniques, Intelligent Transport Systems, Fuel Cells/Wind Energy/Solar Energy, Energy-efficient Tools and techniques, Energy storage technologies, Smart Energy Appliances, Smart Grid, etc.

Microwave & Antennas: Microwave/optical interactions, device technology, broadband cable applications of microwave photonics. Biomedical applications, Smart antennas, phased arrays, T/R modules, multi-beam scanning, active integrated antennas. HF/UHF/RF passive and active RFID tags, Cognitive and software-defined radios.

Technology has wide coverage in terms of addressing the solutions to the problems that the world is facing due to global warming, poverty, pollution, illiteracy, food scarcity, migration of people congesting the urban areas, etc., So the scope of the papers include (but not limited to ) the following:

  • Disasters: Reducing loss of life and property from natural and human-induced disasters
  • Health: Understanding environmental factors affecting human health and well-being
  • Energy: Improving the management of energy resources
  • Climate: Understanding, assessing, predicting, mitigating, and adapting to climate variability and change
  • Water: Improving water resource management through a better understanding of the water cycle
  • Weather: Improving weather information, forecasting, and warning
  • Ecosystems: Improving the management and protection of terrestrial, coastal and marine resources
  • Agriculture: Supporting sustainable agriculture and combating desertification
  • Biodiversity: Understanding, monitoring and conserving biodiversity

PhD Research Forums and Paper Contest - This is a short-paper presentation event for UG/PG students to present and discuss their dissertation research with peers. This forum is a platform that enables students to seek feedback on their research while allowing the industry an insight into academic work in progress. This Forum is an opportunity to become part of a motivated special interest group of like-minded young researchers to meet leading scholars and prominent industry groups.

Guidelines

All papers must be submitted electronically through EDAS Conference papers submission system. To ensure high standards, all contributed papers will be reviewed by three independent reviewers. Based on the reviewers’ comments, the Coordinating Track Chair/Technical program committee chair will take a decision on the acceptance of the papers. Upon acceptance of the Full Paper, the author will be notified via email and the author shall incorporate the reviewers’ suggested corrections to the manuscript and submit the revised manuscript as Camera Ready Submission to EDAS Conference papers submission system.

All papers submitted to the 2020 IEEE HYDCON must be written in English and formatted in the standard IEEE Xplore double-column format (A4 size), you can download template here. Failing to conform to the standard format will result in rejection.

  • All papers must be submitted electronically through EDAS Conference papers submission system https://edas.info/N26707. It is suggested that you use Firefox or Chrome.
  • All regular and invited papers are limited to five (5) pages.
  • The decision regarding the acceptance of the papers is at the discretion of the Technical Program Committee. Note that short manuscripts are not considered.
  • To facilitate the paper’s double-blind peer review process, authors should make efforts to ensure that information about the authors’ identities do not appear anywhere in the text-body of the paper. (for the first submission)
  • Upon acceptance, at least one of the authors listed in the paper must attend the conference and present the paper according to the schedule of the conference. In the event that the presenter is unable to attend the conference for any reasons, your accepted paper will not be considered for submission of the proceeding to the IEEE Xplore.
  • At least one of the authors listed on the paper must register for the 2020IEEEHYDCON to upload the final manuscript.
  • Additional papers can be uploaded for additional fees.
  • Official Acceptance Letter or Official Invitation Letter will be given after the registrant pay the registration fee.
  • NOTE: Accepted AND presented papers will be published in conference proceeding and will be submitted to the IEEE Xplore for further indexing.

[ Instructions for Camera-Ready Paper Submission ]

Formatting Your Final Paper (After Acceptance)

The papers of 2020 IEEEHYDCON will be electronically submitted in IEEE Xplore*. This means that accepted papers must exactly fulfill the IEEE requirements regarding the final submitted version. The maximum length is 8 pages. Please follow strictly the following steps:

  1. All papers submitted to the IEEEHYDCON must be written in English and formatted in the standard IEEE Xplore double-column format (A4 size), you can download template here. Failing to conform the standard format will result in rejection.
  2. Generate a PDF version of your final paper by using PDF eXpress tool. Please go to the IEEE PDF eXpress site at http://pdf-express.org/:
    Create your account with conference ID: 48903XP
    Login and test your final camera ready paper.
    Once the paper passes the test, you will be able to get the approved PDF file by email or download it from the PDF eXpress web page.
    The file is labeled within its document properties as being “Certified by IEEE PDF eXpress”, with an exact date and time stamp.
    Go to the on-line submission system EDAS and log-in using your EDAS account.
  3. Click on the “My Papers” menu item at the top of the page. This will produce a list of all your papers on the EDAS system.
  4. Click on the title of the paper that you want to submit. This will take you to the individual paper page that contains all details of the paper.
  5. Make sure that all author information are stored correctly on EDAS and matches the information on the PDF file.
  6. Click on the “Upload Manuscript” icon EDAS upload button EDAS_upload within the “Final Manuscript” field. This will take you to a new page.

Steps to create an EDAS account

1. Go to EDAS Conference Management System
2. Click to create new account
3. Fill all the mandatory particulars in the registration form.
4. In name field, input should not be all uppercase/lowercase. Only starting letter should be in uppercase. E.g. Karthik, Shankar
5. Add the affiliation in Title case only (every starting letter in uppercase except determiners like of, the, to) e.g. CMR Insititute of Technology , University of Hyderabad, VNR Viganan Jyothi Institute of Technology
6. Add your email address. Try to avoid open domain id like gmail, yahoo etc. Preferably use company, IEEE id etc.
7. Add your affiliation website/ your webpage in https:// e.g. https://ieeehyderabad.org/
8. Click to agree to EDAS policies
9. Click “Add this person”

PDF preparation precaution to submit the paper
Select the option: ISO 19005-1 complaint (PDF/A) option to create pdf from MS-Word.

IEEE Copyright Form*

In order for your paper to be published in the conference proceedings, a signed IEEE Copyright Form* must be submitted for each paper.

  1. Go to the on-line submission system EDAS and log-in using your EDAS account (this should be the same account you have used to submit the initial and final papers).
  2. Click on the “My Papers” menu item at the top of the page. This will produce a list of all your papers on the EDAS system.
  3. Click on the title of the paper that you want to submit the copyright form for. This will take you to the individual paper page that contains all details of the paper.
  4. Click on the icon EDAS_plus within the “Copyright form” field. This will take you to a new page.
